Seamill and West Kilbride Property Guide

Sometimes considered a village in its own right, and sometimes regarded part of West Kilbride, Seamill is a village in North Ayrshire located on the west coast of Scotland approximately five miles north of Ardrossan and eight miles south of Largs. That being said what both places can offer are glorious sandy beaches with breath-taking views of the Isle of Arran and the Firth of the Clyde. West Kilbride is well recognised for being Scotland’s first craft town and showcases a diverse selection of craft based exhibitions throughout the year, including both national and international shows.

Eat and Drink

It is home to the Seamill Hydro, a highly reputable hotel and resort which offers a luxurious bar, restaurant and spa. Their Orangery Restaurant and Aura Lounge offers a mouth-watering selection of dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Being situated only meters from the beach allows for some fantastic sea views, making it an extremely popular tourist and wedding venue.

Sport and Recreation

West Kilbride is home to a champion links golf course with unforgettable views. This 18-hole course hosted the Millennium British Ladies’ Championship and still hosts the Scottish Boy’s Championship every three years. It also offers other sporting clubs such as the bowling club and an amateur football club.

Schools

West Kilbride has its own primary school which also offers a range of activities and clubs for pupils to participate in.

Transport Links

By car Seamill is only 45 minutes from Glasgow, and 40 minutes from Ayr. There is also a train which runs from West Kilbride to Glasgow Central Station.
