Located on the River Clyde, Largs is a popular holiday resort on the West Coast of Scotland. It is the perfect location to enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beautiful Victorian promenade, with a selection of delicious ice cream parlours available allowing you to have refreshments whilst taking in the fantastic sea views. The famous Waverley Paddle Steamer makes regular trips from Largs during the summer months.

Largs is home to Scotland’s most famous cafe, restaurant and ice cream parlour, Nardini’s. The classic cafe with its beautiful surroundings and views makes it an experience not to be missed. Further benefits of the town include ample places to eat and drink, ranging from pub grub to elegant cuisine.

Sport and Recreation

Largs marina is a hot spot for water sport enthusiasts who wish to take to sea sailing or windsurfing. It has excellent sport and leisure facilities and has three incredible golf courses, the superb 18-hole course, Kelburn Golf Club, is situated to the south of Largs and has spectacular views over the islands of Cumbrae, Bute and Arran.  Additionally the town has putting, bowls, play parks and a swimming pool. Largs is famed for a Viking battle in 1263, this Viking heritage is celebrated at Vikingar an action packed Viking themed attraction for all ages, a perfect family day out.

Largs has a choice or excellent primary schools with secondary pupils attending the highly achieving Largs Academy.

Transport Links

Situated only 40 minutes from Glasgow International Airport and under an hour by car to the City of Glasgow. If travelling from Ayr via rail, then only one change at Kilwinning is required to get a direct train to Largs. It is ideal for exploring the west coast islands with a regular ferry service departing every 30 minutes from Largs to Cumbrae in the summer months.
