The coastal town of Ardrossan is located in Ayrshire, 30 miles from Glasgow. It is a historic port town boasting a sandy beach with beautiful views over the Firth of Clyde. Shipbuilding was one of Ardrossan’s important industries in the 18th and 19th centuries, and today it is home to a ferry port with regular Cal Mac services to the Isle of Arran. It lies on the north side of Irvine Bay, situated between Irvine and Largs, on the north Ayrshire coast. Also situated around Irvine Bay lies Saltcoats a small town best known for its picturesque harbour and sandy beaches. Popular attractions in Salcoats include the Apollo Cinema, Basebowl Ten Pin Bowling and the Saltcoats Town Trail where you can learn about the town’s fascinating heritage.

Ardrossan’s Clyde Marina offers a wide variety of dining such as, Cecchini’s Italian Bar, Bistro and Restaurant which boasts beautiful views to enjoy whilst you dine. Other eating options include the Lauriston Hotel and Restaurant and the Indoor bowling club which caters throughout the day.
Saltcoats also is also home to a selection of cafes, bars and restaurants.
Sport and Recreation
The recreation complex is a great attraction for residents or visitors. The complex includes, ice skating and shinny hockey in the MacMillan Team Arena, an Edu-tainment centre for children to explore and climb and a gym/fitness centre for active gym goers which has over 80 drop-in fitness programmes including yoga, zumba and cycling.

The area is lucky to have a selection of primary schools and secondary schools.
Transport and Links
Three railway stations are found in Ardrossan, and they all connect to Glasgow. Bus services are also available via Stagecoach. Saltcoats also has a local bus and train station.
